How much should a French Bulldog eat?
A typical adult French Bulldog weighs 9 to 13kg. We use the standard vet formula: resting energy (70 × weight in kg to the power 0.75), times a life-stage factor for your dog, divided by the 3,600 kcal in each kilo of our kibble. For most adults the factor sits between 1.4 (neutered, not very active) and 1.8 (entire and busy).
| Adult weight | Quieter (×1.4) | Typical (×1.6) | Busy (×1.8) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9kg | 140g | 160g | 180g |
| 11kg | 165g | 190g | 210g |
| 13kg | 185g | 215g | 240g |
That's grams of dry food a day, split over two meals. For an 11kg French Bulldog on Canny Chicken, the quiz shows the exact cost per day from the Founding 100 price, before you give us any details. Treats count: if yours gets a lot, the quiz takes them off the bowl.
Which recipe suits a French Bulldog?
Canny Chicken suits most adult Frenchies. If yours has a sensitive stomach or doesn't get on with chicken, Gentle Lamb (lamb and rice) is the swap, and the Clean Bowl Guarantee makes that swap free. Most Frenchies are fairly low-energy, so the quiz usually lands at the lower end of the range. Anything to do with breathing or skin is for your vet.

My Frenchie gets wind. Will this help?
We can't promise that. Change food slowly over seven days (the switch guide is in the first bag) and tell us how it goes; we'll swap the recipe free if it doesn't suit.
Which bag?
At around 180g a day, a 6kg bag lasts about a month: one drop.
